How to play Baseball Grid

Choose a square and enter a player who matches its row and column clues. Teams, awards, positions and achievements can appear on either axis. Select any clue heading to read exactly what qualifies.

You have three minutes. Each square takes one player, and the round finishes as soon as all nine are filled. Use each player only once. A choice that leaves another square without an unused answer is not accepted.

Playing appearances and statistics cover 1950–2025 regular seasons. Awards use saved history from 1876–2025 for players in that playing scope. Position and achievement thresholds follow the individual clue rules. Search results show available names, not guaranteed answers. If the saved evidence cannot decide a qualification, the guess is held without marking it wrong.

Today’s Daily is the same for everyone. Past Dailies keep their original board and rules. Unlimited builds a new, verified board when you start. Accepted names and your final result are saved to your history. These results are unranked.

How Baseball Grid works

Baseball Grid asks you to connect two baseball facts in each of nine squares. Every square sits between a row clue and a column clue. Your answer must satisfy both. Start with the intersections you recognise, then work across the board before the three-minute clock runs out.

How to play

  1. Read all six headings before starting. A team, award, birthplace, position or achievement can appear on either axis. Select a heading to check its exact qualification rule.
  2. Choose a square, search for a player and select the intended name. Search suggestions identify players; appearing in the search does not mean a player qualifies for that intersection.
  3. Use a different player for each square under the current rules. A choice that would leave another square without an unused answer is held back. Complete all nine to finish immediately; the deadline also ends the round.

Scoring

Your score is the number of filled squares, out of nine. There is no rarity bonus. The three-minute deadline continues after you leave or reload, so start when you are ready to play.

Playing tips

Solve the narrow intersections first. A familiar star may fit several squares, so save versatile names for places where you have few alternatives. Read season wording carefully: a career total cannot satisfy a clue asking for that total in one season.
