How MLB Career Path works

Identify a player from their chronological MLB team periods and selected awards. One clue is visible at the start. Each wrong guess or skip spends one turn and reveals the next clue.

Each path has at least four combined clues: for example, two team periods and two award seasons. Multiple honors in the same year share one clue. Hidden clues use the same mask so they do not give away teams or awards. You get one turn for every clue in the path. A duplicate guess does not spend a turn. There is no timer.

Find the player on your first turn for 100 points. Each turn used reduces the available points; a correct final guess still wins. Giving up or using every turn without finding the player scores zero.

Everyone gets the same Daily, resetting at midnight New York time. Your guest or signed-in account has one saved attempt for each date; reloading resumes it.

Reveal the player and finish?

This ends this Daily with zero points and reveals the full path. You can still review it, but you cannot restart the same Daily.

How Career Path works

Career Path turns a baseball career into a sequence of team periods and selected award seasons. Your task is to identify the player before the clues run out. There is no clock, so you can study the years before choosing a name.

How to play

  1. Begin with the first revealed clue. Read its years as well as its team or award: the date can distinguish several plausible careers.
  2. Choose a player from search. Each new wrong guess or Skip uses one turn and reveals the next clue. Repeating a player costs no turn.
  3. You have one turn per clue, and the last permitted guess can still win. Finishing reveals the entire path for review.

Scoring

A first-turn win earns 100 points. Later wins earn a smaller share according to the number of clues and turns used. For example, solving a five-clue path on turn three earns 60. Giving up or running out of turns scores zero; there is no speed bonus.

Playing tips

Compare the order of clubs, gaps and return visits before guessing. Team periods describe seasons. An award row can fall within the preceding team period; it does not mean the player changed clubs that year. Several honors from one year can share a row, and a path shows selected awards rather than every honor won. Older Dailies may use team clues only.
