How to play MLB Who Are Ya?

Find the mystery player in eight guesses using comparison clues. There is no timer.

New Dailies show five clues: Nation & city, Division, Team, Position and Age. Same country means the birth country matches, but the city match is not confirmed. Geographic arrows point toward the answer; distance is approximate, not a driving route. Same means the attribute matches. Different means it does not. An age arrow marked Older or Younger points toward the mystery player’s age.

New Dailies use current MLB rosters, including injured-list players, with their current teams. The roster, position and age are refreshed for each new Daily, then frozen for the whole round. Birthplace is not nationality. Past or already-started Dailies retain their original roster and clues; Daily details shows the snapshot date.

Position uses the specific MLB roster code, such as LF, CF or RF. If MLB lists only a general role, we use the position with the most fielding innings for that club this season. Unverified positions show Unknown.

A correct player earns 8 points on the first guess, down to 1 point on the eighth. Repeated or unavailable guesses use no chance. Losing or giving up earns 0 points.

Your saved result records the Daily once; it cannot be replayed for a better score.

How Who Are Ya? works

Identify one mystery MLB player in eight guesses. Each accepted name gives you comparisons to the answer. New Dailies use current players, including injured-list players, and compare Nation & city, Division, Team, Position and Age. Older rounds keep their original clues.

How to play

  1. Choose a player from search. Read every comparison before deciding which remaining candidates fit the clues.
  2. Same marks an exact attribute match. Same country narrows birthplace without confirming the city. Older and Younger point toward the mystery player’s age.
  3. Geographic arrows point from your guess toward the answer’s birthplace or home ballpark. Distances are approximate straight-line hints; nearby locations are not exact matches.

Scoring

Winning on guess one earns eight points, falling to one point on guess eight. Losing or giving up earns zero. Repeated or unavailable player selections use no chance. There is no timer, so careful reading does not reduce your score.

Playing tips

Combine clues rather than chasing a single green match. A division match can narrow clubs, while age direction helps separate teammates. Nation means birth country, not nationality or residence. Unknown is an unavailable clue, not a match. Team, position and age stay the same throughout your Daily, so you can compare every guess consistently.
